Cedar Counselling is a charity that is committed to providing accessible counselling and psychotherapy for individuals and couples. Our aim is to bridge the gap between NHS/Statutory services and private therapy.
Making the decision to come for Counselling can be a daunting prospect, that is why we have created an environment which is warm, friendly and relaxed. Our core philosophy at Cedar is about helping you develop and sustain healthy and rewarding relationships with other. We believe that one of the most helpful parts of therapy is the availability of another human being, who has no preconception of you and no personal agenda, other than to be relationship with you and be helpful in guiding you in your right direction.
You may choose to bring to therapy issues that involve areas of your life which you feel troubled by, either in your personal or professional life. Some issues brought to therapy may involve low self-esteem and confidence, relationship problems, sexuality and gender difficulties, anxiety, depression, work related stress, bereavement, loss, abuse, rape, identity and trauma. There is real value in talking and exploring these difficulties with a trained professional who can support you when feeling stuck and confused about your life.
The Counsellors at Cedar Counselling can offer a safe, non-judgmental and confidential place for people to explore issues that are difficult to discuss with family or friends. We are committed to ensuring that all our clients experience a safe and confidential service, all our counsellors are fully trained or in advance training.
There are no maximum number of sessions. Our counsellors on average work with us for around 2 years, although it is often longer. We believe that counselling can have life enhancing changes.
The First Step
Contacting a counselling service can be daunting, all our telephone calls and enquiries are treated with the strictest confidence. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions and if you would like to explore counselling further we can arrange an initial assessment.
At the initial assessment, you will have the chance to talk freely about your situation and ask questions about counselling. Assessments are charged at £25 for individuals and £40 for couples. After the initial assessment, our fees are based on a sliding scale based on individual circumstances.
